Abstract:  Employees’ trust in leaders in work places is receiving extensive attention from scholars and managers. Although some studies have found the positive relationship between leader trustworthiness and employees’ voice behavior, few studies have explored the mechanism of leader trustworthiness on employees’ voice behavior. Based on the theory of social information processing, how leader trustworthiness, employees’ fear and narcissism affect employees’ voice behavior is explored. 184 paired samples of leaders-employees were collected by questionnaire. The results show that employees’ narcissism negatively moderates the relationship between leader trustworthiness and employees’ fear of the authority; employees’ fear of the authority negatively affects employees’ voice behavior; narcissism negatively moderates the mediating effect of fear of the authority between leader trustworthiness and employees’ voice behavior. This study not only reveals the boundary conditions for the positive impact of leader trustworthiness on employees’ voice behavior, but also discusses the mechanism of leader trustworthiness and narcissism on employees’ voice behavior from the perspective of employees’ fear.
