Abstract: Due importance has not been attached to cultural learning among non-English majors in college, which is partly responsible for their lack of communicative competence. The rapidly growing international exchanges have presented an even greater challenge to college English teaching for non-English majors. This paper points out some problems in college English teaching, and suggests measures to be taken to conduct or strengthen cultural teaching of college English.
