Abstract: Lu Xun and Guliyagawa coincidently reached an agreement in terms of thinking. They had the same perception of the artistic advocation that the suppression of “life-force” is the immense motive that produces literature and art. Both of them suggested that a literary theorist should be a critic of social civilization at the same time.
