Abstract: Since the beginning of 90’s in last century, the market socialism has already developed into the fifth stage. With E. Roemer as the representative of the fifth-generation western market socialists, they have already put forward various modes of market socialism, seeking a viable socialist road that can replace the market capitalism. This article analyzes their various basic theoretical modes so as to provide lessons and inspiration to the reform in our country’s current economy.
