Abstract: Since China began to carry out the policy of reform and opening-up, China’s telecommunication industry has gone through substantial and extraordinary development, and gradually entered a period of stable increase. The continuous growth of telecommunication markets has made telecommunication services go into thousands upon thou-sands of households and become an important force of the national economy. However, with the progress of science& technology and the increasing diversification of consumers’ needs, the whole telecommunication industry has been faced with opportunities& challenges and at the same time, such hot issues as market regulation, tariff policy, interconnection between different networks, market access and ordinary service have been paid more and more attention inside and outside the industry. With the development of China’s telecommunication since the period of the reform& opening-up as the breaking through point, this paper sums up the characteristics of the development of this industry, analyses the existing problems and puts forward constructive suggestions and ideas helpful to its development form the angles of strategy.
