Abstract: The legislation and the effective implementation of environmental laws are urgent with environmental problems becoming serious daily. The legal system of environmental lawsuits of civil public interest exactly safeguards the public interest in environment, and is the important way from the theory to the practice of the environmental right. Referred to foreign experience and based on the present legislation and law problems in the protection of environmental public interest, this paper advances the idea of setting up the legal system of environment lawsuits of civil public interest with Chinese characteristics from the angles of reality and legal principle.
