Abstract:

To facilitate the comprehension of Japanese sentence-final particles and Chinese modal particles, the paper makes a contrastive study on Japanese sentence-final particles and Chinese modal particlesIt clarifies that Japanese sentence-final particles and Chinese modal particles are the same from the perspectives of“context: dialogues and soliloquies”,“position in the sentence”,“regional characteristics”and“reiterative usage”The differences between them are that Japanese sentence-final particles with stronger communicative functions, are characterized by“male terms and female terms”, while Chinese modal particles are characterized by their abundance and complexityConcerning the difficulties in mastering the modal particles, the paper puts forward the pedagogical suggestions
