Open Innovation and Firm Performance#br# ——The Moderating Roles of Learning Orientation and Network Spillovers

Abstract:  Based on Chesbrough′s open innovation model and literature review, this study introduces learning orientation and network spillovers into the field of open innovation, and explores their moderated roles between open innovation and firm performance 211 high-tech firms are used as research samples to test the hypothesis and it is found that: (1) open innovation has a positive effect on firm performance, and outbound open innovation moderates the relationship between inbound open innovation and firm performance; (2) both learning orientation and network spillovers moderate the relationship between open innovation and firm performance These conclusions have important implications for the development and application of open innovation theory
