Classification Regulation of Financing Internet Finance Platform

Abstract:  By virtue of information technology, internet finance achieves inclusive finance and becomes the effective supplement of traditional financial markets However, various types of financing internet finance platforms and confusion on its classification by regulators and theorists lead to regulatory gaps and many risk events caused by P2P platforms on the one hand, and on the other hand, cause ′one size fits all′ in regulation So it is proposed that classification regulation is an effective measure which can resolve the regulation problems, protect consumers′ interests, maintain financial market stability, and encourage financial innovation Firstly the new classification standard is introduced, and financial platforms are divided into mediation-type platforms and platform-type platforms according to  business, duty and risk Classification regulation should be applied to them based on financial regulatory theories It is important to implement strong capital regulations on mediation-type platforms and strong information disclosure regulations on platform-type platforms
