Wen Xin Diao Long by Liu Xie in the Southern Dynasties (AD 420 589) is a monumental work of theory of literature, and many of the theoretical viewpoints expounded in this work have exerted profound influences upon the later development of the theories of Chinese literature, even upon the modern theories of literature up to date. These influences are chiefly studied & analysed in the article, starting with some writing techniques of Chinese literature.
