Abstract: The article describes the man viewpoints on whether science is rational in the philosophy of science. It analyses the criteria for the explanation of rational viewpoints and irrational viewpoints of science. Finally it draws the conclusion that science should merge rationalism with irrationalism, which irrationalism, which is of important significance in theory
