Abstract:

This study bases itself on constructivism and employs task-oriented and communicative approaches in its attempts to establish a new oral English teaching model---embedded multi-task oral English teaching model It embeds oral practices into other non-oral college English courses, and designs appropriate oral tasks for different embedded environments This model proceeds in three steps: first, set specific goals for oral teaching and design different tasks to achieve these goals; second, integrate oral English training into other English lessons; third, use online language teaching system to transfer learners’ output into input materials Fluency, accuracy, complexity, and communicative competence are separately trained in different tasks Students’ responses confirm the effects of this model
