Computer-Assisted Classroom Vocabulary Quiz and Vocabulary Acquisition

Abstract:

 This paper attempts to discuss vocabulary teaching should be a dynamic and interactive system which involves the roles of teachers, students and vocabulary The computer-assisted classroom vocabulary quiz is the engine of this system as well as the integral part of vocabulary teaching It can stimulate students’ motivation both in class and after class This paper tries to examine whether or not this method will improve students’ vocabulary acquisition and investigate the response from the part of students by an empirical method The result shows that compared to traditional method, this method can better arouse students’ enthusiasm for vocabulary learning and further their vocabulary acquisition
