Impact of Mobile Phones on Language Humor#br# ——Popular Humorous Texts of Mobile Newspaper Interpreted by Defamiliarization Theory

Abstract:

To explore the impact of mobile phone as an information carrier has on humor mechanism of language, this paper applied the “defamiliarization” theory under the traditional script theory to analyze some popular humorous texts in the mobile newspaper A qualitative and quantitative approach is employed in the process Defamiliarization is found to be an important means to generate popular humor in the mobile newspaper It proves that mobile newspaper caters to the youth’s psychological needs for fashion and innovation, which to some extent demonstrates the effect of mobile phones much favored by young people on language humor
