Abstract:

In order to improve college students’ listening and speaking skills, an experimental language teaching model is proposed This model incorporates the theory and practice of science experiment courses, and a language activity is seen as a “language experiment” One of the key steps of doing a “language experiment” is making student-created videos/audios 238 freshmen students were selected to participate in the study Results of the attitudinal survey at the end of the semester showed students generally held a very positive attitude towards the project and they found the project helpful and beneficial to their English speaking The students also responded positively to the introduction of peer assessment in the project
