Incentive Function of University Teachers’ Development Centers ——Empirical Analysis Based on Chinese and Foreign Cases

Abstract: On the basis of the Chinese and foreign cases, from the overall analysis and case comparison of empirical point of view, the incentive function of university teachers’ development center is discussed. The results show that the problem of missing incentive function widely exists in Chinese university teachers’ development center, Chinese universities’ emphasis on incentive function is inferior to foreign universities, but there are still some bright spots in the specific practice. Incentive function of university teachers’ development center should mainly include three levels: recognition of teaching achievements, in which commending teaching achievements and clarifying teaching status are its core; the sponsor for teaching research, in which supporting research projects and meeting the demand of development are its core; service for the development of teaching, in which using external forces and providing professional guidance are its core.
