Impact of Creative Self-efficacy on Research Performance: the Role of Research Engagement and Challenge Research Stress

Abstract:

Based on a sample of 364 university teachers, the research explored the impact of creative self-efficacy on university teacher’ research performance, and the role of research engagement and challenge research stress in it. The results showed that: creative self-efficacy had positive effect on research performance; challenge research stress had reversed U shape effect on research performance; research engagement played a mediating role in relationship between creative self-efficacy and research performance; challenge research stress played a moderating role in relationships between creative self-efficacy and research performance as well as research engagement and research performance. The conclusions are revealing for the scientific research management of many universitys.
