Abstract: Under the continuous development of artificial intelligence (AI), journalists have started utilizing AI to assist in news creation. However, the potential challenges to copyright compliance arise simultaneously. By analyzing AI involvement in news creation, compliance risks can be identified with regard to data sources, creation processes, distinction from AI autonomous creation, and creation forms. According to these issues, the following measures can be taken: promoting the “Creative Commons Agreement”, adopting the collective management system of copyright to facilitate the use of prior works, enhancing algorithmic filtering and content identification obligations, as well as incorporating the utilization of AI-generated content into the scope of fair use interpretation.
