Impact of Customer Enterprise Platform Transformation on New Quality Productive Forces of Supplier Enterprises——Empirical Evidence from  Listed Companies in China

Abstract: Enterprise platform transformation is of great significance to enhance competitiveness and strengthen supply chain resilience, and is also an important impetus to promote the development of new quality productive forces of enterprises. Based on the data of China’s listed companies from 2013 to 2022, the spillover effect and micro-mechanism of the platform transformation of customer enterprises on new quality productive forces of supplier enterprises are empirically examined. The results show that the platform transformation of customer enterprises has a positive impact on new quality productive forces of supplier enterprises, and especially the positive impact will be greater when the customer enterprise is the leading enterprise or the supplier enterprise and the customer enterprise are in the same field or in the same area. The mechanism test results show that the platform transformation of customer enterprises promotes the development of new quality productive forces of supplier enterprises mainly by reducing the stability of supplier-customer relationship and improving the level of digital transformation of supplier enterprises. The research provides empirical evidence for enterprises to develop new quality productive forces by relying on the platform.
