Abstract:

“Digital divide” has become a new global phenomenon of wealth gap This paper elaborates how the digital divide results in the poor solidification of the economically backward areas with the Vector Auto-regression and Granger-causality test, which proves there is a casual chain from the digital divide to the deprivation in the information age Therefore, the elimination of the digital divide should be regarded as the primary measure for poverty alleviation This paper proposes macro countermeasures for eliminating poverty in China on the basis of foreign experience
