Abstract:  Energy storage has been widely applied in the new electric power system because it can improve the regulating ability of the electric power system. Under the existing electricity price and market mechanism, the power generation-side of new energy is facing problems such as uncertain revenue mode of the configuration of energy storage and unclear investment path. Through analyzing energy storage policies at home and abroad, the core elements affecting the economic benefit of the energy storage in typical application scenarios is summarized. By considering the policy guidance of the dual carbon goal, the development path of energy storage technology and the potential of the power market, a simulation model on economic benefit evolution is established by using the system dynamics method. The model predicts that energy storage in new energy power generation-side is economical and conforms to the national policy development. The results show that the government would accelerate the improvement of market mechanism to help the energy storage obtain benefits from markets; the capacity of energy storage, peak-valley power price differences and the cost of technology are important factors affecting the economic benefit.
