Research on English Class Performance of Ethnic High-level Backbone Talents

Abstract:

This survey was conducted to investigate English class performance of ethnic high-

level backbone talents The findings involve the following points: the subject students of

different sexes, majors, and English levels show significant difference in the class

performance in that the female students scored higher than the male ones in terms of learning

orientation and self-disclosure; science students are more likely to be self-confident and

aggressive than arts students; students who have passed with higher scores, CET-4 and CET-6 as

well as English Test of Graduate Entrance Exam are more willing to socialize with other

students; while students with different ages, learning experiences and ethnic cultural

backgrounds don’t show significant difference in class performance There is no significant

correlation between students’ final term exam achievement and class performance.
