Abstract:

This study, by comparing network virtual currency and legal tender and analyzing monetary attribute of the former, concludes that virtual currency is an online commodity with functions of quasi currencyNowadays, the commodity attribute of network virtual currency is weakening while its monetary attribute is strengtheningThis trend lies on the expansion of application scope of network virtual currency, and the gradual approval, strengthening supervision and standardized process for issuance by administration departmentUsing examples of “auction points” of Da Jia Dian (meaning “let’s click”) website and Q coin of Tencent website, this study also reveals the systemic problem of network virtual currency, caused by its dynamic fuzzyFinally, this paper raises corresponding countermeasures and suggestions from the perspective of supervision
