Abstract:

Cultivating critical thinking in the Intensive Reading course in science-oriented universities will improve English majors’ thinking skills as well as language skills. First, the definitions of critical thinking are discussed. Then the importance and the effective ways of fostering English majors’ critical thinking are shown by applying the critical thinking training skills in the Intensive Reading course in science-oriented universities.
