Abstract:

With the rapid development of the Internet, Internet content regulation becomes more imminent. The Motion Picture Association of America（MPAA）film rating system is the source of modern content rating systems and has considerable influence on American movie industry and society. Through the study of rating system background, development, the content architecture and the specific effects of the implementation, it is revealed that it is necessary to establish content regulation system and set up appropriate management organization in order to make more effective regulation on Internet content. Simultaneously, parents and community also play important roles in promoting healthy development of Internet industry.
