Abstract: Agglomerational development can accelerate the dissemination of information technology, knowledge, and resources within the region, and it’s conducive to cooperative innovation of knowledge-intensive strategic emerging industries. From the perspective of multi-dimensional proximity, the patent cooperation data of high-end equipment manufacturing industry in Hubei province from 2010 to 2017 is used to build the innovation network of industry-university-research institute cooperation. The evolution trend is analyzed and the negative binomial regression model is used to study the impact of geographic proximity, technological proximity, social proximity, and their interaction on the intensity of innovation network cooperation within the province. The results show that the innovation network of industry-university-research institute cooperation in high-end equipment manufacturing industry in Hubei province is relatively loose, which will affect information and knowledge dissemination and resource sharing among organizations; geographic, technological and social proximity will promote cooperative innovation, and technological proximity has the greatest impact; the interaction among technological proximity, geographic proximity and social proximity is a substitution effect. Organizations with higher technological proximity are not significantly affected by the geographic distance, and they are more inclined to choose organizations with longer geographic distances.
