Abstract:

As the modern news media, whether network can objectively present the image of depressed patients or not affects public awareness of depression. By using Foucault’s theory of power, the value tendency and news deviation of two websites (Sina and ifeng) on constructing depression related issues are presented. Further the reasons for depressed patients with the image of the other are revealed, websites are interfered with power thus avoiding reporting implied social factors behind depression and focusing on public figures at the same time ignoring the real situation of ordinary patients. Eventually it evolved into a symbol of entertainment and adventure.
